DIY Body Scrubs for Proper Exfoliation

Exfoliation Advantages

Our skin is continually renewing itself, which means that every three weeks, our "old" layer of skin dies and is replaced by a new one. Old skin cells exfoliate off our bodies without our knowledge. It's a fully natural cell regeneration process.

Dead skin cells do not exfoliate as quickly or as easily as they did when we were younger. This results in dull-looking skin, and skin pollutants, and can even cause skin disorders (acne, clogged pores etc).

Exfoliating helps your skin look younger and more radiant by speeding up the skin renewal process and removing blackheads.

Dead skin cells can become trapped in our large visible pores, resulting in dark spots, acne, clogged pores, irritation, wrinkles, dryness, and a slew of other unpleasant side effects. It may feel harsh and as though the skin isn't breathing.

Your skin will feel revitalised and seem brighter and younger. Blood circulation is improved by exfoliation. This translates to improved oxygenation, nutrient delivery, and general skin health.

What's the best way to use a body scrub?body scrub

Physical and chemical exfoliators are two alternative techniques to exfoliate your body's skin.

Simply soak your body in warm to hot water for 5-10 minutes to soften your skin and open up your pores. Apply exfoliants liberally all over your body and massage them in for 3-5 minutes to allow your skin to shed dead cells.

Completely rinse it with warm water. Using a bath sponge or exfoliating gloves will enhance the exfoliating effect.

Remember that after using the scrub, we removed some of the outer layers of the skin's protective barrier, therefore moisturising your skin.

How frequently should you exfoliate your skin?

Body scrubs should not be used frequently. If you have a mild remedy, you can clean your skin with it 2-3 times a week in the summer. In the winter, you should only use the scrub once a week. If your scrub contains active ingredients like salt or cane sugar, use it no more than once every two weeks.

Exfoliate your body at least twice a week. Think about the scrub you're using. Sugar scrub, for example, is non-drying and can be used by persons with dry, thin, or sensitive skin.

People with greasy, thick skin will benefit from a salt body scrub. If you have a skin rash, tiny cuts, or inflammation, you should avoid using a salt scrub.
