What Causes Butt Pimples? 

Pimples are very common on the face, back, shoulders, chest, and butt. But acne that occurs on the butt is different from that on the face, back, chest and shoulder. They can occur in any age group. Pimples on the butt are rough and have red bumps, itchy, or may hurt or may not hurt on your butts. They can be painful and very irritating.

The pimples or acne on the butt are also called butt acne and can be uncomfortable to a few people. This butt acne is caused due to wearing tight-fitting clothes and also due to those you wear after the workouts those sweaty clothes.

Causes for butt pimples

Blocked Pores

You may know that skin has pores like the face, chest in the same way skin of the butt to has pores and these pores get blocked by bacteria, oil, etc. These blocked pores may further cause pimples anywhere on the body even on the butt.

The person who gets acne on the face, shoulders, chest, back also gets breakouts on the butt too. This acne also called acne vulgaris can pop out on the face, butt, shoulders, back, and chest. Many anti-acne gels and anti-acne creams are available in the market that can reduce the breakout of acne or pimples. 

Some many other causes or reasons that cause pimples or acne on the butt.

Folliculitis

Folliculitis causes the hair follicle to get inflamed and can cause red, itchy, and inflamed pimples on the backside of your body due to friction caused on the skin due to tight-fitting clothes. As you have hair follicles on the skin of all your body, there may be chances of the hair follicle getting irritated and becoming inflamed and swollen into bump-like things.

The bumps developed on the butt may cause white-filled acne cause whiteheads which is similar to acne or pimples, they are sometimes itchy and painful and sometimes they are not.

Folliculitis is developed on any area of the skin of the body as they cause friction between the clothes and the skin. This happens only if you wear tight-fitting clothes. Sweating in your undergarments can hold moisture in the skin as this innerwear are made of polyester fabric or nylon. This sweaty moisture can irritate your skin and hair follicles causing a bacterial infection.

Keratosis Pilaris

Keratosis pilaris is a common skin condition that causes roughness on your butt area. You may have seen some red and skin-coloured acne or pop-ups on the surface of the skin of butt that looks like pimples. These butt pimples are formed due to keratin protein that accumulates on the surface layer of the skin thus forming butt acne that is red inflamed skin. These bumps are felt by touching what seems like goosebumps or small pimples. 

No cause builds up keratin on the surface layer of the skin. Keratosis pilaris is formed mainly on the butt, back, and thighs. These types of acne are harmless to the skin and kids get this on their cheeks.

Boils

Boils are the skin condition in which the pus is collected around the tissue. It is also known as skin abscess. The cluster or group of pimples causes boils with pus-filled in it. They are very big and are painful. They are formed on the skin when you have inflamed hair follicles. The inflammation on the skin is caused due to bacterial accumulation that is staphylococcus bacteria which turns into pus-filled boils. Some fungus-like pseudomonas can also cause fungal infection which can turn into large boils. These tiny boils can turn into blemishes on the skin and can be much painful anywhere on the body.

Treatment 

Pimples are the common skin problems that many individuals face in day-to-day life. If you have pimples then you need not worry until it's severe as there are many creams and anti-acne gels in the market having many useful pimples eradicating ingredients that clear up acne problems by reducing the oil formation which turns into pimple formation.

Benzoyl Peroxide

Benzoyl peroxide is the best ingredient and can be available in many forms like cream-gel and contained in every acne treatment product. These can treat pimple formation on the skin.

Exfoliating Creams

Exfoliation is very important as it helps remove any dead skin cells. It helps from blocking the hair follicles and keeping the skin smooth thus removing dead skin cells. They also moisturize the skin and help to keep the skin healthy.

Antibiotics

There are many antibiotics available in the markets as oral or topical forms of antibiotics which treat blemishes caused by red, inflamed, and painful acne.

Preventive measures and cure

Every individual faces acne or pimples in their entire lifetime. So it becomes very necessary to take extra prevention and cure so that it would not turn into severe skin conditions. There are a few tips to cure or prevent this butt acne or acne on your body.

  • Always take shower after a workout or when you sweat as sweat causes pores to block and cause a bacterial infection which leads to acne breakouts.
  • If you are using polyester or nylon fabric as undergarments it's time to switch to the cotton fabric as it absorbs sweat and moisture from the body and thus prevents irritation to the skin.
  • Never touch or pop out the acne on your own as it risks out the chances of skin infection.
  • Don’t scrub your body too much as it only irritates the skin but you can do exfoliation as it removes dead skin cells and retains moisture in the skin and thus prevents acne formation.
  • Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes as it captures the sweat and moisture and does not pass air and thus cause acne formation.
